How to sell homemade jewelry when you’re 13?
So I’m a 13 year old girl, and I enjoy making hemp jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces. I think I’d like to start selling my hemp jewelry, just to earn some extra pocket money. How would I go about doing this, and how much should I price it? Thanks a bunch! =)
Find a craft sale or farmer’s market and see if you can get a table. You will need lots of merchandise to be able to pay for your table and supplies. Perhaps you can get someone to share a table with you and split expenses.
You could sell to fiends and their parents. Are you on a team or in a club? That might be a place to show your wares.
Lots of people say crafters should charge three times materials costs. I don’t think that works very well, you need to check out what other people who make similar items are sell them for. Selling, not asking price.
Good luck.
Online, check out etsy. A friend sells her beaded jewelry there. I typed “sell your own crafts” into the browser, and got etsy, and several sites that tell you how to sell crafts online.
Etsy has a scarab bead woven hemp bracelet with two beads on it for $8.50 plus shipping if that helps.
Church craft shows/bazaars, charity craft shows are good places. You pay for a table, and sell your craft.
Look online at jewelry similar to yours, and see what is being charged for it.
You could always sell to relatives and friends and neighbors. Make gifts to them of your work. they then become a walking advertisement for you work.
