Jehovah Witnesses, Advice on Marijuana?
Ok I’m 21 work 2 jobs (server, paralegal) I am currently in school to be a RN I also have a 9 mo old baby girl. I have been smoking for 2 years probably a blunt sometimes 2 a day. I am the nicest person and the meanest person someone will meet (well I have been told by several relatives and my husband). I just want to know what Jehovah Witnesses think of consumption of marijuana through food not smoking as I know I need to quit I was raised a JW and I’m the way of the world and I have started me and my disfellowshipped husband to go back to the hall.

When I say marijuana makes me smarter I’m not lying. I have smoked pot before test and have done test sober before on average my pot tests always showed higher. I have a photographic memory when I’m high and when my instructors break down endocrine system, urinary system I can literally mentally see everything she is saying and remember it if I’m interested in the topic I have had spells where I would forget something told to me but not taught to me. I have ADD, an angry problem and others can tell when I smoke that I’m much nicer person.
i dont know about your religion specifically
but if god made it and gave it a use(marijuana has MANY medical benifits) god intended for it to be used)
i personally have no qualms about it what-so-ever due to religious brainwashing, the only reason you SHOULDNT smoke it is if it effects your life on a level that is beyond acceptable
if a hardworking father spends every day providing for his family and likes to smoke a bowl or 2 on friday to wind down, whos it hurting?
in your case, it relieves stress for some other reasons, makes you a nicer person, this is to benefit of everyone!
if you smoke every day, dont get a job and sponge off your girlfriend’s parrents until you are 45, THEN you shouldnt smoke it
the only difference from alcohol is marijuana is a bit safer and a bit more illegal

so long as you stay away from other reality altering and/or sedating natural substances; abscorbic acid alters reality by relieving pain, caffeine, a popular stimulus, ibuprofen and acetaminophen, both pain medication, chamomile, a relaxer and sedative, ad Infinity, and, of course, alcohol. God made it, I smoke it, that settles it.
In all this universe and on all this planet there’s not a single shred of evidence to support the theory of a higher power. God exists only in the imagination of people.
You have to make your own decisions and they have to be good ones. You’re going to do well or do poorly based on the quality of the decisions you make. Should you smoke or should you not – that’s something you have to decide based on the situation you’re in, your risk of getting caught and how much you have to lose if you do.
One thing you don’t need to worry about is the health consequences of consuming marijuana – you won’t get cancer, heart disease, brain damage or die from it. And God won’t be angry with you if you do consume it because there is no God.
I think you should do what you feel in your heart. If your struggling with it then quit. Personally I feel its something that is natural and made from the earth. Its already legalized in some U.S. states and I predict that eventually it will become legal in every state, so if it were legal would you still have a problem with smoking it? Maybe you would get a clear picture if you ask yourself that question.
I have a medical Marijuana card. If I were still a JW, they would disfellowship me for it. I do not enjoy smoking Marijuana but it is the only thing that helps me sleep in that I struggle nightly with hours of RLS
I have found that the topical creams work well and they never make me high, which I like better in that I do not like to be altered…..Marijuana smoking is no better or worse than a couple of glasses of wine at night…..
I also wonder how they are going to handle the legalization of medical Marijuana
They DO NOT have the right ot add to the Scriptures and disfellowship for it…..Smoking is not adultery and if they were going to be consistent I have seen many Alcoholic Witnesses….they do like the Grog
Edit: You can also use a vaporizer which eliminates the smoke and thus the Witnesses shouldn’t have a problem with it…..Where are all the vocal Witnesses to answer your question here….silence speaks volumes
