i may not be a mother..or a woman but basic psychology says if you are to explain the reasoning behind not doing it that would be most effective personally i’ve always felt guilt is a great persuader but keep in mind whatever you do do not push to hard-kids will do what they want dont destroy the relationship over this-just make them feel horrible not angry
It depends on how old she was.
My reactions would all be different at 5, 12, and 17.
Tell her not to let it affect school and never to drive high.
First, it’s marijuana.
Second, my daughters are 5 and 20 months so I’d be pretty angry if they had access to pot.
If she was over 18 I wouldn’t care. Hell, I smoke it myself (GASP).

If she’s an adult – let her make her own mistakes. If she’s under 18 and still living at home – take the stuff (flush it down the toilet) and ground her butt until graduation day!
Get her grounded.
I would talk to her doctor about getting her some therapy about it. And if they kept doing it I’d get them into a drug rehabilitation hospital/clinic.

I’m not against smoking marijuana on occasion, but I wouldn’t like that she was breaking the law (even though it’s just a fine here). I would talk to her about instead of breaking the law working to change the law. I’d show her different organizations she could get involved with and impress upon her the importance of moderation (which I’ve been working with my kids on since they’ve turned two).
Weed, pot, marijuana, grass, and mary jane are all the same thing.
