Are there any REAL reasons why prop 19 should not be passed? (CA)?
I reviewed the ballot just a moment ago and the argument against prop 19 holds no credibility at all.
As a NON-USER of marijuana I’m searching for REAL reasons against the proposition that overshadow the Pro’s for prop 19.
-Could cost K-12 schools almost 9.5 billion? (Makes no sense)
-Cause bus drivers to crash? (Last I checked any occupational driver is subjected to random drug screening)
-Permits employees to possess marijuana on the job? (That’s a load of crap, by this reasoning they could say that you’re allowed to possess alcohol at work, which you cannot.)
-Could cost thousands their jobs? (Like your local neighborhood pot-dealers? oh well for them)
I would like to hear more educated/credible reasons against prop 19.
Corporations. That is pretty much why it is illegal. With marijuana you can make a lot of products. Current corporations do not want this to happen as it equates to competition. Being these Corporations fund campaigns of our leaders, they pretty much get their way in what laws pass and what do not.
the vote is left up to the people. if we don’t want it is that a good enough reason for you?
of course in CA votes don’t count.

Because people are caught up in the whole “marijuana is a drug” argument and is against the law. Personally I believe alcohol is much more dangerous than pot and as caused far more accidents and deaths the marijuana has. Unfortunately marijuana is still considered an illegal drug and thus, even if the prop is passed, will never come to fruition because of the federal government.
The only valid reason I can think of is that it’s against federal law. We shouldn’t teach our children that they can ignore laws they don’t like.

It’s all just moral reasons really. The war on drugs is WAY more out of hand than the drug itself. Alcohol effects people x41394729457 times more than pot, i’ve tried both. Once we get past the moral thought of pot being “bad” no one will even care if it’s around or not.

Big Tobacco
Big Alcohol
Big Pharm
Big Lumber & Big Paper
It’s the corporations that run the show, don’t be naive.

The actual Business of Marijuana in California would bring 10-100’s of million’s of dollars in revenue annually.

Well the market selling the pot would sell the pot for their chosen price + $50 Cannabis tax
Which that money could be used for California Needs.
If Prop 19 were to pass which I seriously doubt it will… Non- Smokers are not going to go out and smoke just because it is legal… So it will not increase useage.
If anything… It will be a big thing for a little while…
After a couple years people would lose interest in Marijuana because for some people it is only fun because it is illegal, but of course that is not the same for all.
Let our Local Law Enforcement Focus on Real Crimes and leave Pot Smokers Alone as Long as they are NOT Driving Under The Influence. Because of course that is not Ok!
If Prop 19 passes they already have a mouth swab test to tell if you have smoke any marijuana in the last four hours.
