Are Marijuana herbal vaporizer tubes/hoses safe to inhale through?
What are the characteristics of a “safe hose”?
How do you know if hose is letting off fumes (taste/smell)?
I boiled the rubber hose and glass components in water for a few minutes to remove glue and stickers. The hose became much softer but did not change form or colour. After a few days the hose is slightly softer than when first purchased but mostly the same.
I do not know if the hose is NSF or FDA approved or whether that would even make a difference.
Any intelligent feedback appreciated.
I’ve used a small vaporizer that had a tube on it, until somebody dropped it and it broke. Nothing ever went wrong, nor did it effect the taste.
I’m not sure what you’re doing different that has you worried, but unless you are putting the flame directly on the rubber tubing you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
If you really want to be sure, just use a a bong, pipe, or roll your own.
If you want to get the effects of a vaporizer with a regular pipe or joint, try this out (it really works):
Lay down on a bed and hang your head off the edge. Let your head fall down and rest so you are looking at everything upside down.
Have a friend help you light whatever it is you are smoking.
Take 1 long hit then exhale
Take 1 more hit and hold it in while tilting backwards to get your head as close as possible to the ground.
When you can’t hold your breath any longer, quickly stand up and exhale.
As the blood rushes to your head, you get a awesome high that would otherwise have taken the entire bowl.
Continue to smoke as long as you need
This way it’s very cost effective 😛
As long as the plastic isn’t getting hot enough to become soft during use (and it shouldn’t), I don’t think you have much to worry about.
I’ve never seen fumes come off a plastic vaporizer hose, nor have I tasted it (it would probably taste like water that’s been sitting in a warm plastic bottle, if it was leaching).
