LED marijuana grow
I constructed this slide show video of a legal, physician recommended and state registered grow in an attempt to provide a specific community of people an idea of what LED lighting can achieve when growing cannabis. This is for comparative purposes. Lights used in this grow are 2x 180w Illuminator Jumbo UFO’s (360w total) manufactured by ProSource Worldwide Inc. My personal experience started out using fluorescent lighting and within 2 grows i converted my lighting to a combination of 400w – 1000w MH and HPS, respectively. As you can see in this video, I am pleasantly surprise to how well LED’s perform. However, I am in no way suggesting any person should convert to LED lighting. They are in fact inferior to HID lighting as they produce lighter, smaller buds and plants but they are at the same time Superior to Fluorescent lighting as they produce better results than I have ever seen with a rough comparison in wattage. These lights provide less electricity used and a lot less heat created for those with power consumption / heat issues to worry about, Compact design, Better for the veg cycle (more branches), No noise, Plugs into normal wall outlet (no ballast required). However, some con’s are PRICE! ($700 each… Come on.), Less yield at harvest, Not a good choice for the flowering cycle (smaller lighter buds), Untrue comparisons to HIDs in the advertisements and literature. The claim is that one 180w UFO (used in this grow) will replace the 400w HID. But in this case, TWO …

@bluemystic7502 just consider though, most growers expect to yield as little as one oz per plant not using advanced techniques… so this yield would still be considered above average.

These lights certainly appear to work, but the yield had to have been a little disappointing, no?
damn that was awesome.
nice plant i grew with a ufo 90 watt dual spec with a t5, its only a 22inch plant but i did harvest around 2 ounces give or take, not bad for my first grow, check it out if you have some free time
what kind of ufo led lights did he use and and what was the light spectrum on the leds

Yes, you are absolutely right. This grow was done for an LED company trying to sell lights.
I’ll have to check this book out… $35 worth of fluorescent light isnt much light at all… I think it may have been not very good smoke if thats the case.

yo props on the grow couple of questions if you have the time I like what you did screen of green in the closet is beast but are you using 1 led in each chamber of the closet or where both led’s used on that 1 plant what type of irrigation I see buckets are you using deep water culture or drip and about the price of leds could you get like 1 and supplement with fluorescent
but see more buds did outgrow you thats the point HE OUTGREW YOUR 700 DOLLAR LIGHT WITH ABOUT 35.00 WORTH OF LIGHTS

alot cheaper,also if a cfls breaks there only a few bucks and chances are wal mart will replace em for free

My knowledge comes from research then first hand experience actually using cfl’s, led’s and hid’s. Regardless of what this book says… which is written by a guy tryin to sell a book, cfl’s will simply not outgrow my grow- no matter what, no question about it. IF IT WILL… show me the pictures of your grow proving me wrong.
6 walmart cfl’s would outgrow these LED panels? Buddy.. that’s just not true. I used to grow with cfl’s and my technique has not changed and when i grew with cfl’s i would get half the weight i got with those LED’s. Fact of the matter is, cfl’s are for the kitchen.

yeah, thats not really out of the ordinary, but someone def. knew what the hell they were doing with this grown…very nice…and if your plants are not growing that fast your are more then likely not using the right kind or not enough lighting

Ok. I’m not sure why you can’t be objective with this, But I do know that #1 you never offered pics or vidz of a fluoro grow, even when i asked. And #2 if you think this grow is anything out of ordinary you must have learned 100% of what you know here on youtube from knowledge lacking individuals like yourself. every grow I have ever been involved in or owned, the plants have grown that fast or faster in the early stages veg.
