I remember that variety of Cannabis which was growing in midwest. It was of a very poor quality with prices as low as $8.00 a lid. We used to call it: “rope weed”. The better quality pot came from Michouacan, Alcapulco, Oaxaca, and Panama and those sold from $10.00 a lid to $15.00 a lid. A “lid’ was supposed to be one ounce of pot, but back then it also contained stems and seeds as well as flowertops. The name came from a tin of Prince Albert Pipe Tobacco where pot was stored.
