Do you think marijuana gives you a more deeper appreciate for music?
I’m not advocating smoking up, its just a discussion comparing the effects of weed on music and listening to music when not stoned. Personally for me when I listen to music after a couple of spliffs I can appreciate all sorts of things in music that I couldn’t before, like the way so many instruments come together, or the lyrics behind a good old school hip hop song. What you guys think?
I dunno
Might do – Bob Marley is the greatest musician of all time (in my opinion) and he seemed to have a thing for marijuana…
No doubt about it.
No.
You only THINK you have deeper appreciation.
For that matter, marijuana make you THINK that music has some significance, other than entertainment.
I can do the same thing with a couple of bottles of beer, and stay legal doing it . . . . .
No more than any other relaxant.
When you relax, you can focus and pay more attention. It isn’t the pot.
I definitely enjoy music WAY more after sparkin up
Cannabis slows the mind down, which is not a bad thing at all. It takes away the mental clutter, the racing thoughts, the “what I’m going to do for the rest of the day/week/month” list that engulfs so much attention away from the present moment. I’d say it puts you in more calm, more intuitive state, more in the present moment. This sets you up for a better environment to appreciate the harmony of the music you are listening to.
I’m an advocate for marijuana reform. I don’t think it’s something NOT to be respected. Even though it’s safer than aspirin, it can be abused like alcohol. The worst negativity of abusing cannabis is its illegality in the present moment:
-loss of job
-no student loans
-can lose voting rights
-criminal record open to the public
