Delegate Rob Bell (R-58 VA) squashes marijuana law reform in VA.
Despite the the broad support of conservative Republicans on the committee – one legislator, Delegate Rob Bell, district 58 (areas surrounding Charlottesville, VA), clearly agitated at the crowd, and testimony by injured veterans, a professor, a retired police officer, and a crowd of nearly 100 Virginians! Watch as he leads a mean-spirited effort to silence both articles of reform legislation. Even when presented with the possibility of saving VA taxpayers millions of dollars!
@HiFiTown – Oh, so there were two marijuana bills debated on the same day! HB-1134 and HB-1136. Didn’t know that. Thanks for the helpful reply.
@InfinityPoint I was there. Bills were heard one after the other as I remember. The comment: “You can use it, you can sell it, you can sell it on schools.” was Bell criticizing the Medical bill’s language. The “last bill” he referenced was the prior discussion on the Decriminalization measure. There was a edit in the audio, but it was quite linear and representative to the full discussion. The tone Bell used to compare the two bills was not very fair at all.
@Fabfreefreddy i heard about this law getting squashed, just saw the video tonight…that dude is just ridiculous…he doesnt even care that hes blurting bs out of his mouth…im sorry im just seriously amazed by how much of like u said a puppet he is, but like any others if hes a good enough liar he wont be where he is now for long
So how does this douche go from a vet talkin about how cannabis helps him…he goes straight to a bs cop out….making it easier for people to get cannabis will lead to it being sold in schools? come on now, theres a lot worse things available in schools than weed….
He does the same on the saved police time, DUH the time theyre not bustin people for bs weed laws, they could be doing any number of other things.
Let resposible adults use and grow their own legally !!!
It is hard to understand him at 0:50. It sounds like two voices overlapping, except they are both his? Did you do an edit there?
I am trying to understand what he is saying before and after the part where he says “You can use it, you can sell it, you can sell it on schools.”
Followed by “That’s what the (last bill?) did. At least that’s consistent.” What does he mean by “last bill”? Or did I hear that wrong?
Bell was not alone in his opposition, just a bit more outspoken. On that subcommittee Todd Gilbert also vocally opposed, and Cline did so silently.
Bell’s just a shallow mindless puppet … nothing more.
all because of one guy…
I wish I really knew why we are still trying to overturn a laws that are based on nothing but lies. I guess some just don’t want the truth, even if it is good for them and everyone else.
