Everyones always fighting about what light spectrum to use, Why Not Both, try 1x600watt HPS with 2×90 watt LEDs, and you can get a lb. serious stuff no joke, I almost got 1lb but instead ended up with 438gm dried/cured all the way, the smell is a drool over it by just smelling em, dont fight over the bill It should’t even affect you with everything on, it takes more to grow more right …

600 watt LED and 600 watt hps still are 600 watts.

@steevyp , a good grower gets 1 gram per watt, u can get half a kilo with 5 good veg plants

@pewetang,600 watts of LED will cost the same as a 600 watt HPS on your energy bill LOL. So if you are in to raising the start up cost of a personal, legal grow op then LEDs are mos def the way to go. . . BTW my 600 watt digi produces little or no heat, as a matter of fact I’ve ran 1000 watt core coil with little heat trouble in the midst of a hot summer. So again, if money is no issue then yes go LED, but if your gonna spend that much on lights, shop at your local dispensary 4 product!

im not going to get into a debate saying led’s suck cuz like toy poodles said a gram per watt is a nice yield but hps lights are far more superior in every way the light penetrates the leaves much deeper than an led ever could the only led light ive seen that even compares to a 1000w hps

@luvmypit83 led does not suck by a long shot they use almost no energy they take a little longer but in the long run smoke any lighting system 10 fold stop following what people who have never used leds say and try them yourself and you will see there better then anything else

how much will it cost to have a descent room sized crop (15 x 12 foot room) using LED lighting, and what kind of LED lights should be used (wattage, colour, etc…)?

also, does the LED lighting method really save up to 90% on your electricity bill as opposed to the usual methods?
